Win7 skype crashing on startup

Problem:
So when starting skype, it automatically logs in and then shows the main screen with all the contacts- then it crashes showing the (shut this program or find solution)- either option will simply close the program fully.
No idea what to do and no answers found online seam to solve it.

Solution:
did you try turning off compatibility mode ? or Uninstall using your uninstaller, then download latest stable skype, then reinstall? <-- lame old repeated answer, but worth a try.
