Genuinely awesome album, combining a powerful (and lovely) voice with lush accompaniment from a tight band. Despite some high-profile covers and duets ("Edge of Midnight" works incredibly well, while "Zombie" is weaker), the more personal material shines brightest. Must listen

rating: 6/10 - review: Bruce and the Band have made some of the finest records of the last 45 years, time will tell how this fares. Starting off with the reflective 'One Minute You're Here' which is a sort of 'Secret Garden' but lacks the impact of that classic. One of the weakest songs is the title song 'Letter To You' - Bruce usually saves his best songs for the title track as The River. It's a fine record but lacks those 3-4 killer songs. By 'Rainmaker' we are into vintage Bruce.- probably the best song here. The album closes with the classic 'I'll See You In My Dreams'. Bearing in mind this was recorded pre-Covid we are lucky to have new music from Bruce but having set the bar so high this is a bit of a let down.

info: Homegrown is the 40th studio album by Neil Young released June 19, 2020. The album consists of material recorded between June 1974 and January 1975. The album was recorded after the release of On the Beach and before the sessions for Zuma. Like those two albums, much of the material was inspired by Young's relationship with actress Carrie Snodgress, which was deteriorating in 1974. The album was compiled and prepared for release in 1975. Instead, Tonight's the Night was released in its place, and Homegrown remained unreleased for decades. It was finally set for release on Record Store Day, amid Neil Young's Archives campaign. Record Store Day's date was changed due to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic and so Homegrown finally came out on its own on June 19, 2020.

Quiet Musical Talking
I now have a few Bill Callahan albums they have a very distinctive sound with very lovv key musical backing and his vocals that are more musical talking than singing like Leonard Cohen used to sing or Rex Harrison in My Fair Lady. This gives his album a sound that is akin to having a late night conversation it is an intimate personal album with mainly domestic themes to his songs such as Lets Move To The Country and The MacKenzies there is also a song in praise of Ry Cooder called Ry Cooder !! it is an album for listening to on long winter nights for it exudes intimacy and warmth.

rating: 80/100 - review: If you entertained any fanciful notions that Liam Gallagher's debut for the MTV Unplugged format would be a rootsy, fireside reinvention of his swaggering brand of unreconstituted rock'n'roll, then think again. Not for him the laid-back cosiness of Eric Clapton or 10,000 Maniacs. İt's a world away, too, from Oasis' entry in the canon; the nightin 1996 at the Royal Festival Hail where Noel filled in on lead vocals at the last minute when Liam pulled out due to a 'sore throat' only for Gallagher Jnr to heckle the band from the balcony, beer in hand.
Taped at Hull City Hail in front of a raucous crowd, this is business as usual from Liam. Although electric guitars are excised, there are no radical reinventions in terms of the arrangements. Instead it's the 24-piece Urban Soul Orchestra and three soulful backing vocalists who give the material a new twist. With the 10-track seti ist evenly split between solo cuts and Oasis classics, Bonehead returns to recreate his parts on the latter's songs.
Snarling opener Wall Of Glass retains its punk energy, now rebooted with an urgently-strummed acoustic by Jay Mehler and a swirling Hammond organ part. Some Might Say is ripped through, although delicate piano adds nuance to the crunchy rock of the original. Meanwhile, Novv That İve Found You, dedicated by Liam to his daughter Molly, is his most unalloyed pure pop song to date.
Liam's on terrific vocal form throughout, his fitness regime över recent years seems to ha ve recalibrated his pipes. The 2020 incarnation of Liam compares favourably to his 90s pomp on choice Oasis tracks including Stand By Me, now shorn of the maximalist electric guitar overload that blighted Be Here Now to let the string accompaniment sheeee-iinnnne. Equally arresting is lesser-known Oasis gem Sad Song as well as a lilting Cast No Shadow.
There's a sweeping cinematic feel to Gone and the widescreen vibe is further enhanced by closer Champagne Supernova, chiselled down from the epic seven-minute original to a punchy piano, strings and vocal four-minute affair. full download 24bit flac, mp3 320 .rar

The album was recorded on 3 August 2019 at Hull City Hall and contains ten songs, consisting of acoustic performances of Oasis and Gallagher solo tracks.
MTV Unplugged (Live at Hull City Hall) is the first live release to top the UK Albums Chart since George Michael's Symphonica in 2014, and as of June 2020 is the biggest selling vinyl release of 2020.

rating: 69/100 - Vinyl LP pressing. 2020 release. Floatr, third LP from Happyness, comes after a hiatus of almost three years for the band. Core members Jonny Allan and Ash Kenazi describe the record as 'both a break-up and a coming out album', it having been spawned from a period of turmoil and the subsequent major shifts in the lives and outlooks of the band; most visibly, drummer Ash Cooper's emergence from a supporting role into a fearless drag queen to co-front the project with singer Allan. Floatr sits in tone somewhere between the ragged euphoria of 'Weird Little Birthday' and the lush balladry of 'Write In', and with a fresh injection of characteristically mad, artfully self-aware lyrical turns (first single 'Vegetable' references Chumbawumba, drag queen Jujubee, vaping and Scientology's E-meter auditing process all in the space of less than 4 minutes) - it seems the band may be entering their most thrilling era yet. Happyness, to the runway.

His status was cemented through co-producing Solange's seminal albums A Seat at the Table' and When I Get Home, and collaborations with Frank Ocean, Blood Orange, Moses Sumney, Sébastien Tellier. Mentored by jazz bassist John Clayton, a protege of Ray Brown and Quincy Jones, Kirby has previously released solo albums 'Travel (2017) and Meditations in Music' (2018), which prove his vision to be expansive, leaving little to wonder why well-respected artists have sought his collaboration.
Future Nostalgia is the second studio album by English singer Dua Lipa, released on 27 March 2020 by Warner Records, after leaking in its entirety two weeks before its original release date, 3 April 2020. Lipa enlisted writers and producers such as Jeff Bhasker, Ian Kirkpatrick, Stuart Price, The Monsters & Strangerz, in order to create a "nostalgic" pop and disco record with influences from dance-pop and electronic music, inspired by artists such as Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Moloko, Blondie and Outkast.
