Echo & the Bunnymen - The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon Review and Download Best Songs

year: 2018 - genre: indie rock - review: First of all, Echo is one of my all time favorite bands. I've strongly recommended their newer releases to older fans who haven't listened to them since the eighties. I've been on board with Will, and Mac since right before the release of the original Ocean Rain album, and I've always bought their newer albums upon the first week of their release. So, it pains me to say that this is one to avoid. It just doesn't work on any level. Will's wonderful guitar playing is oddly held back on most tracks, and he doesn't even seem to be on The Killing Moon - which is pretty much their signature song. Everything is just kind of slowed down to suit Mac's mature voice, and the drums are robotic, and loud. The songs have lost that psychedelic feel, and in all honesty, they're not really radically different versions. They're just not as good. There's really no other way to put it. If you havent listened to Echo in awhile, and would like to hear what they've been up to lately, do yourself a BIG favor, and pick up Flowers, Siberia, Meteorites, or the excelent Evergreen album. Even though it's just Will, and Mac at this point, they've still continued to put out some damn good music. Les, and Pete are missed though, and with this release it's easy to see how important they were to the original Bunnyman sound.

my favorite song: Download and listen Nothing Lasts Forever song
