"Cotillions", the third solo album from Billy Corgan, is just average. 17 songs with fancy, pretentious lyrics, and a down home folkiness. Too long. Too boring. Not interesting enough.

I find it funny that with no one looking, this is what Billy Corgan wants to put out into the universe. It's greatest offense? Pedestrian. It all bleeds together. Sure, well played, but completely forgettable. I'd be hard pressed to give you any one song that stands out from the rest because they all pretty much sound identical. So, all these reviewers giving it five stars, what they really meant to click was three stars--three stars for a well played album, but completely forgettable. If I could give it 2.5 stars, I would. There is less than half an album's worth of half way decent songs here.
If I had to pick--"To Scatter One's Own", "Jubilee", "Cotillions", "Colosseum", "Martinets", and "Rider" might stand out.
