IAMX is the solo musical project of Chris Corner of the band Sneaker Pimps. Founded in 2004 in London, it is an independent music project which also focuses on and experiments with visual art. Musically, IAMX spans multiple genres from electronic rock and dance music to burlesque-influenced songs and emotional ballads. Corner's striking and wide-ranging voice, and his way of programming sounds and beats, make up the obvious characteristic of the IAMX sound.
7/10 - review: Very mature album, but I think 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' was far more interesting. Lyrics are top-level, but the music doesn't sound that engaging, at least on first listening. Let's see if this becomes a grower.
8,6/10 - review: I just heard this song for the first time. I was paying attention because I liked it, and then the last line absolutely stunned me. Absolutely radical. Gorgeous. This is art. This is great art. I had to turn off my music and sit with it, speechless. I still don’t have language. My heart is still in my throat.

The Universal Want is the upcoming fifth studio album by British rock band Doves. The album is set for
release by Virgin/EMI on 11 September 2020. The Universal Want is the band's first album following a hiatus that began in 2010; the band members pursued solo projects in the interim, until a regrouping for a charity concert in 2019 brought about discussions of creating new music.
Three digital singles preceded the album's release across mid-2020: "Carousels" in June, "Prisoners" in July, and "Cathedrals of the Mind" in August.

review: No one expected such an accessible sound from this collaboration between the most cerebral ex-members of, respectively, Roxy Music and The Velvet Underground. Addingto the pair's reputations, the recording process was reportedly fraught with Eno branding Cale "difficult" and "irrational". The daggers on the cover were no coincidence.
Somehow, the loggerheaded duo produced a collection of glorious, glistening pop gems. Eno had just fathered his first daughter, and was enjoying the 1990 World Cup tournament. Cale put the cheerfulness down to working in a studio that had windows for a change. Cordoba provides a darker moment and Cale's voice is never far from a growl, but the general mood elevates like Talking Heads at their most warmly euphoric.
