The genre-bending pop group who seamlessly combines elements of Motown, 80s Pop, and 90s R&B and Hip-Hop are set to release their debut LP, Future Retro Love Story.Highlighted by stories of redemption, relationships, and love, Future Retro Love Story will officially drop this spring.
Future Retro Love Story began to take shape in January 2019, at a home studio in Indianapolis, while Atlanta resident, Nate Davis, was home for the holidays. Davis got together with his long-time friend, Jordan Hawley, to listen to a variety of tracks that Hawley was producing. Having never worked together before, they didn’t expect to create a full-length album. But, the old-school vibe combined with a modern pop soundscape struck a chord with Davis.
“I’d been making rebellious party music with bands like The Franchize, KontraBand and NAKD,” shares Davis. “But, I was looking for a project that reflected my love of Motown. Once I got together with Jordan, I knew we had something. The earth seemed to shift on its axis a bit for me.”
Throughout 2019, Davis and Hawley fine-tuned their songs, and reached out to musician friends all over the country. After linking up with former band members for guitar riffs, horns, and drums, Future Retro Love Story came together. The album features fan favorite "Song For You" and "Taking You Home," a 2019 ISRC Song Writing Competition Semi-Finalist.
