As we prepare for cooler weather, let's take a complete look at the songs our musical heroes produced this summer. Here is an unscientific grouping, from best to worst, of this summer’s most noteworthy pop songs:

The Secret of Association is the second album by the British singer Paul Young. Released in 1985, it reached number one on the UK album charts and the Top 20 in the US. The album spawned the hit singles "Everytime You Go Away" (a #1 hit in the US and #4 in the UK), "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down" (#9 UK, #13 US), "Everything Must Change" (#9 UK, #56 US), and "Tomb of Memories" (UK #16).

The album has been certified Double Platinum (600,000 copies sold) by the BPI in the UK, and Gold (500,000 copies sold) in the US by the RIAA.

Gorillaz - The Fall (2011) CD Covers

The Fall is an album from British virtual band Gorillaz. The album was officially announced on 20 December 2010 and soon after released on 25 December 2010 as a "free" download on the Gorillaz website, exclusively to fans in the band's Sub-Division fan club. The entire album was recorded on group founder Damon Albarn's iPad during the American leg of the Escape to Plastic Beach World Tour in October 2010 and mixed in England by Stephen Sedgwick. The album features fewer guest artists than previous Gorillaz albums; collaborators include Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash and Bobby Womack.

President Obama And The Queen Of Soul Celebrate Labor Day In Detroit

     President Obama and The Queen of Soul teamed up in Detroit for a special Labor Day celebration yesterday. Aretha Franklin served as the ‘warm-up’ for the Labor Day festivities before the President delivered a speech to metro Detroiters and labor leaders about jobs. “If you want to know who helped lay these cornerstones of the American middle class, you just have to look at union labor. That’s the bedrock this country is built on: Hard work. Sacrifice. Looking out for one another…,” he told the crowd.

Doggumentary is the eleventh studio album by American hip hop artist Snoop Dogg; released by Priority Records on March 29, 2011. Recording sessions for the album took place during 2010 to 2011. Ocean Colour Scene - Moseley Shoals CD Covers (Deluxe Edition) (2011)

Moseley Shoals is a 1996 album by the British rock group Ocean Colour Scene, that was released during the Britpop era. The album reached #2 in the UK charts, selling over 600,000 copies.

The first single taken from the album was "The Riverboat Song", which was popularised by Chris Evans on TFI Friday. "The Day We Caught the Train" reached number four in the charts, with "You've Got It Bad" and "The Circle" also reaching the top 10. "One for the Road" was also due to be released, but the band decided to concentrate on 1997 release Marchin' Already. By the end of 1996, "Moseley Shoals" had sold 1.3 million copies.

A couple weekend goodies from OK Go
