review: Madonna put all her weirdnesses in the songs, which mix politics, sex and self-knowledge weights, floated between the purest disc of the 80's until the modern reggaeton. What unites the songs in Madame X is the work of a composer free of commercial pressure, displaying an artistic autonomy that no other popstar has. What's bad about the album is a result of the dangers of lyrics and the pseudo-grandiose trials that Madonna builds. She ends up throwing all over the place with poor phrases, and is nowhere to be found. Madame X closes as a faltering but decidedly remarkable work.
